Service Agreement

This Service Agreement sets out the terms under which Yard Guardians (“we,” “us”) provides pet waste removal and lawn care services to you (“Customer,” “you”). By scheduling service with us online, by phone, or in person, you agree to the following:

SERVICES AND PRICING

Yard Guardians will come to your home and pick up dog waste at whatever frequency you subscribe to (One-time, Weekly, or as otherwise agreed).

Our Essential recurring waste removal pricing covers up to two (2) dogs and a backyard size of 1/4th acre or less. If you have a larger yard or more than 2 dogs you can select our Signature plan or contact us for custom pricing.

One-time cleanups require a $50 deposit, which covers the first hour of service. Any additional time or other yard maintenance such as mowing and leaf removal, are billed at $50 per hour in 15-minute increments, with payment due upon completion.

Prices are subject to change and we will notify you of any pricing changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of service after notice constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

SCHEDULING AND HOURS OF OPERATION

We perform services between dawn and dusk, Tuesday through Friday. We do not accept time-specific service requests, as we cannot guarantee accurate arrival windows within a specific time of day. You will be assigned a service day based on your location and route availability, and we will notify you of that day when your service begins.

We will make every effort to complete service on your assigned day. Occasionally, due to technician scheduling, health issues, or other operational factors, service may need to be rescheduled. When this occurs, we will attempt to provide at least 24 hours notice.

ACCESSING YOUR YARD

It is your responsibility to make sure that our technicians have access the area that you need cleaned and that any potentially protective or aggressive dogs are safely restrained outside of the work area. If we cannot access your yard due to a locked gate or because our technician feels uncomfortable with your pets behavior, we will contact you. If there is no response after 10 minutes, we will leave and try again on your next scheduled service date.

SANITATION AND WASTE DISPOSAL STANDARDS

We are committed to maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for you, your pets, and the community. Our technicians follow these standards on every visit:

  • Equipment Disinfected: Our shoes, and tools are disinfected using pet-safe, veterinary grade disinfectant after every service visit to help prevent the spread of disease or pathogens between properties.

  • Waste Disposal: All collected waste is double-bagged using biodegradable bags and placed in your trash receptacle, unless your service tier includes off-property disposal.

Our technicians may need access to an outdoor water spigot to clean equipment or mix sanitizing and deodorizing solutions on-site, particularly following loose stool cleanup. Please ensure outdoor water access is available on your scheduled service day.

LEAVES, DEBRIS, AND TALL GRASS

It can be very difficult to find dog poop in tall grass or in a yard full of leaves or other debris. Unfortunately, our 'Guardian Guarantee' doesn't apply when conditions exist that would prevent our technician from locating and collecting waste easily. If this happens, we will be back on our next scheduled visit and get anything missed once the yard maintenance is complete.

If you would like assistance with additional yard maintenance beyond pet waste removal, please let us know!

INCLEMENT WEATHER

We will work through the rain and cold as long as we do it safely. We cannot work through severe thunderstorms, flooding, or an accumulation of snow.

Yard Guardians pet waste removal is a subscription service. We do not offer refunds for missed service due to weather. In those rare cases, we will skip that visit and return the following week to catch up.

If you need your yard cleaned before your next scheduled visit, please call us and we will do our best to serve you if scheduling allows.

HOLIDAYS

We observe three major holidays: Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. We are also closed the second week of July for the Oregon Country Fair and the week of Christmas to allow our team to spend time with their families.

If your service day falls on one of these days we will skip that visit and catch up on our next scheduled service date.

BILLING

You MUST have an up-to-date credit or debit card on file for service. For subscription plans (Essential and Signature), Yard Guardians pre-bills in 4-week increments. All payments are considered earned or to-be-earned at the time of payment. No cash refunds will be issued on prepaid amounts. Prepayments will be applied as account credits toward future services provided by Yard Guardians.

If your card does not go through, we will discontinue service immediately until the issue has been resolved. If more than 30 days has passed since your last service, a first time cleanup fee may apply to reinstate service.

Any refunds will be at the sole discretion of Yard Guardians. If a refund is issued it will be for the remaining balance less any discounts received plus a $20 administrative fee.

PAUSING OR CANCELLING SERVICE

If you AND your pets will be away for an extended period of time and you wish to pause service, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Credit will be applied to your next billing period for any service date(s) not rendered during your pause. If your dogs will remain at home during the pause, no credit will be applied to your next billing period due to accumulated waste.

If more than 30 days has passed since your last service, a first time cleanup fee may apply to reinstate service.

You may cancel your service at any time by giving us at least 48 hours notice before your next scheduled service visit. When cancelled, we will continue servicing your yard until the end of your current 4-week billing period unless you instruct us otherwise.

CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Yard Guardians customer, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your property, yard size, and number of dogs at sign-up and whenever changes occur;

LIABILITY

Yard Guardians carries general liability insurance and agrees to provide services in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services, the customer holds Yard Guardians and its employees harmless from and expressly waives all claims, except those arising from gross negligence on the part of Yard Guardians.

We are not liable for:

Claims for direct property damage caused by our technicians must be reported to us within 24 hours of the service visit in question. Our total liability for any single claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the service visit at issue.

Your information is for Yard Guardians internal use only. We will never sell your information or use it in any manner other than what is strictly necessary to provide our service.

PROMOTIONAL USE

When we do, we are careful not to include any personally identifiable information.

Some of the provisions contained in these terms of use may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site. The current version of this Agreement is always available on our website.
